Holiday Binge Watching

Written by
Some of you may have already started the sub-season of holiday movie watching. I haven't... yet. But I plan to this weekend with some "Elf" action.  Tubi asked Americans what their favorite holiday classic they can't get enough of. The Top 5 are: 5) “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” 4) “A Christmas Story”  3) “It's a Wonderful Life”  2) “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”  1) “Home Alone”  Home Alone?    I'm disappointed that my favorite Christmas movie of all time is not even in the Top 10... Die Hard. Do not debate me on this. And I don't care that Bruce…

One For Me

Written by
With the holiday season upon us, things will look a little differently-- but our spirit of love and charity remain stronger than ever.  When it comes to gift giving this year, what's your plan? According to a recent survey, most people don't expect too many gifts under the tree-- which is completely understandable and okay. Which is why nearly a quarter of respondents said they plan on gifting themselves. Pffft. I've been doing this every year-- especially when I was single. I took the time to wrap my own gift, even.  When I got a dog, he would be my…

Best Boy

Written by
Some kids are fascinated with delivery drivers. Others loooove the "garbage man". Some kids are obsessed with Target. But Parker loves him some Best Buy. The adorable kid from Fort Wayne, IN, wanted to dress up like a Best Buy employee (because when he grows up he wants to work there) for Halloween. His momma says Parker, who has autism, is fascinated with electronics-- so Best Buy is the ultimate.  Mom contacted the local store and asked if she could buy a shirt. They one-upped that request. Not only did Parker get a blue shirt of his own, but three…

Happy. Monday.

Written by
Monday gets a bad rap. I totally get it. Who wants the weekend to be over? Not this gal! I really think 3-day weekends should be the the norm. That's because it takes a full day to catch-up on stuff you couldn't get to during the week, and then we need two other days to decompress. And for me, I finally get the chance to sleep like a human, so... But here are a couple of reasons why Monday shouldn't be your nemesis.  1. You have a clean slate. 2. It's a great time to set new goals. 3. Your…

I love irony. And in this case, it's a good thing. Giggles the cat has a permanent scowl on his face. When he was brought to Riggi Rescue in Streetsboro, he was covered in ticks, wasn't neutered and had a bite wound from a cat fight. Poor little dude!  But he got his happy ending. Giggles-- the viral sensation-- found his furever home.            View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Riggi Rescue (@riggirescue)

Boy Wonder

What were you doing at the age of six? Riding bikes? Easy video games? Playing tag? Like most 6-year-olds. Arham Om Talsania of Ahmedabad, India, may be doing all of that, too. But at the age of 6, he's also a Guiness World Record holder-- for being the world's youngest computer programmer. He passed the Microsoft certification exam for the Python programming language-- no small feat.    Now that he's set for life... I feel so.... under-accomplished. LOL

Nap Time!

Written by
There are so many wonderful things to love about Thanksgiving: 1. The food 2. The food 3. Nap time It's inevitable. After stuffing yourself with sleepy turkey and all the sides, and then some pie(s), well, a nap is going to happen. So why not nap like a boss with this turkey pillow from Arby's: But this is no ordinary pillow. You wear it like a hat, and it covers your eyes. So, in theory, you can sleep sitting up-- or put your head down anywhere and catch some zzzzs. Would napping at the dining room table be inappropriate?  …

Bockpot Yum

Written by
We'll soon be returning to stick-to-your-ribs recipes. And this one qualifies as a lot of comfort food yum. Plus, it was a hit with my peeps. Enjoy! Crockpot Italian Chicken Ingredients: 4 chicken breasts (I used 3) 8 oz. cream cheese (softened, and cut into cubes) 1 packet Zesty Italian seasoning 2 cans cream of chicken soup Directions: Throw everything in the crockpot. Cook on low for 4 hours. Shred the chicken and stir it all up. If the sauce is too thin, add a little milk. Serve over pasta. Eat a lot, and then take a nap...
