Cryin'

You've probably taken a selfie or five, or a family photo, or a couple's photo with the Weeping Willow at Edgewater Park. I love weeping willows. They're so beautiful and floatie, and airy. But who planted this tree, and why? Gather 'round, JenY Nation. It's time for a fun story. Get the scoop HERE.

Squirrelnastics

Written by
Earlier, I wrote about the deck that my hubs built for our squirrels. There's an update! As you can see, he just built a ladder for them. When he told me a while ago that he was building a ladder, I assumed it was going to be something like you'd make as a kid from popsicle sticks. I know my husband. He's all "go big, or go home." Duh! Epic. I was impressed by the structure. And the irony is-- he built the ladder, but I got to see a squirrel run down it! We watched for a few days,…

Parked

Written by
I've always had a fascination with parking lots. Weird, I know. It's because parking lot adventures were always something my dad and I would go on when I was a kid. You could find all kinds of trinkets and coins and dollar bills in a parking lot.  But nowadays, it's the disturbing things I find. Like rando underwear, masks, gloves... and this toothbrush. This poor, poor toothbrush. So many thoughts running through my mind: 1. What did this toothbrush ever do to you? Geesh, all run-over and what-not. 2. Did the person who littered with this actually brush their teeth?…

More Whale(bell)...

Written by
You know what we need more of during these "unprecedented times"? More whale! Beluga whales are the perfect animals to add to your squad: squishy, cute, chatty, and always inspiring. Polar Bears International and exlore.org are again providing Beluga awesomeness with a live feed in the Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada.  Turn up the volume so you can experience a Beluga conversation through their high-pitched clicks, chirps and grunts.  You're welcome.

I Do What I Want

Written by
Doggos are just the most precious creatures. They are nothing but unconditional love. And their personalities!  Eclipse loves to go to the dog park. But one day five years ago, her human was taking too long to get on the bus to go to the park, so... she got on all by herself and made the trip. She's been making that trip now, solo, because when a dog needs to socialize-- she needs to socialize! She even has her own special bus pass! Check out her journey HERE.

Oui Wee

Written by
Isn't there a saying that goes like this: "Good things come in small packages" ? So. True. Because yesterday, I shoved a couple of these dainties in my mouth. OMG. Delish. And since I have a love-hate relationship with food, I felt oh-so responsible only eating 2 of these bad boys. Which means I came under the 3-for-180-calories. But the point is-- these are really good. For dinner, we paired these mini croissants with alfredo gnocchi. And let me tell you... these delights were great at soaking up every bit of the alfredo sauce left in the bowl. Because we…

The Best Medicine

Written by
They say "Laughter is the best medicine." I agree 1,000-percent. And with 2020 being some kind of year, we need all the laughs we can.  With that in mind, let's make laughing contagious. Click HERE for the funniest things you can ask Alexa to keep yourself (and the family if you're not single) entertained. I suppose you could ask Siri the same things if she's your gal pal.  Hope you have laughter every day. xoxox

The Bird

Written by
I feel fortunate to live in the NEO. I love the changing seasons-- even though at times it seems like there's nothing but rain in winter... and orange barrel season. I love the diversity of foods and things to do and see. And I love our creatures. Where I live, in particular, has diverse wildlife-- including a variety of birds-- some new that I'm discovering every day. But the bird I can't get enough of during the summer is the heron. And last year, my hubs discovered that their rookery is close to our home. We live around water, and…

Mon-Yay!

Written by
I'm not a Monday hater. Every Monday I do always say to myself: "Where did the weekend go?" Because if I were running this world, we'd have an automatic three-day weekend. You need one day to get all your domestic stuff done, and two days to actually do whatever. But anywho, I don't dread Monday. For me, Monday is the one work day of the week where I have the most energy! LOL It's because I slept like a human on Saturday and Sunday. For me, Monday is my most productive day. But I do feel the pain of those…

So. Glad.

Written by
Why? Not only does it mean "the weekend is here!" But because I'm having the Monday-iest of Fridays. I managed to injure myself within only being awake for an hour this morning. An hour. I'm a klutz. My name should actually be Kathy Klutz, because I can injure myself in the most non-amazing ways. There are times I get bruises and scratches and have no idea what happened. I bang into a door frame at least once a day. But this morning was epic. I got a large scratch on my arm thanks to a banana. A friggin' banana!!!! How,…
