I'm admittedly a nostalgic fool. I often find myself reminiscing about childhood, my teen years-- especially with everything that we've faced so far this year. You're probably doing the same thing. Experts have termed our walk down memory lane as "Quarantweening," meaning we're spending our lockdown time dreaming of simpler, more carefree times. Like when all that mattered was doing homework, finding the perfect lipgloss, spending hours listening to tunes, etc...  If you find yourself digging out your old gaming system, looking at your yearbooks, or drinking a Capri Sun (with booze added because you're grown now)-- it's all good. …

Best Life

I'm a squirrel lover. Always have been since I was a kid. Back then, Charlie The Squirrel would visit me every day, and I'd feed him peanuts out of my hand. I'm *this* close to that happening with White Paws (the squirrel.) The hubs and I leave peanuts for him on the outside ledge of our front window. And he visits at least three times a day to snack. If he sees us sitting at the kitchen table and there are no nuts for him, he'll stare in the window, like "Hello! Where's the good stuff!?!?" LOL Since the hubs…

Never go to the store hungry. I've done it two weeks in a row now, and then wondered how I dropped so much money while there.  In addition to buying a brick of Havarti cheese-- because I'm gonna make a grilled cheese sandwich one of these days--  and some thick-sliced bacon, I impulsively saw this cute and delicious little set of oil with dipping spices for $7.99. I can purchase an entire large bottle of olive oil for that price. But... when you're carb-starving and you haven't been to your favorite Italian restaurant in forevs and you're missing "bread and…

That Smell

Written by
It's me! If you're smelling some citrusy awesomeness! I'm that person who changes home decor with the season, and my scent for the season. I looooooove the smell of this White Citrus lotion from Bath & Body Works. I like Coconut Lime Breeze, too, but that's now discontinued. Sigh.  Anywho, sciene has proven that wearing citrus scents makes you appear younger-looking to everyone else. With that said, I won't bathe in White Citrus. I don't want to appear to be 6-years-old. But... if I wear enough to be carded again-- victory!

I encourage responsible cyber slacking. I mean, seriously, you can only tolerate so many minutes (five) on a video conference call. LOL  So, if you need to take a break... these are some social media accounts I follow that are fun. On Twitter:  @Wendys: The most savage responses to tweets ever!  @dog_feelings (Thoughts of Dog): These tweets are written as a dog would speak.  @wofanswers (Wheel of Fortune Answers): Clips from Wheel of Fortune with the most wrong answers to these puzzles.  On Instagram: @this_girl_is_a_squirrel (Jill The Squirrel): If you love squirrels... I have to watch her stories every day!…

Only Love Can Do That

Are you shaking your head right now? I find myself, at times, in a daze. There is so much that we've had to face this year. And just when we thought we had turned the corner-- we're gut-punched by all this violence and destruction. If you're feeling scared, or confused, or angry-- or all of it-- you aren't alone. My emotions have run the gamut as well. Sometimes in a five minute span! I just want you to know that though I may not know you personally, I do care for you. I am thinking of you, and I wish…

This picture is my reaction to the horrible news that Pier 1 is shutting it all down. As I look around my homestead, there are so many pieces of furniture and home decor and gifts that have come from Pier 1. I used to joke with store employees that I could never work there because I would probably spend my entire paycheck there!  I'm having a small, private ceremony to lay to rest my Pier 1 credit card... Sigh. In all seriousness, I feel for the employees nationwide that will lose their jobs.  With that, I end this with: "Eat…
