Out of This World

Who doesn't have cabin fever right now? Like I mentioned on my last blog, a road trip is always a good idea. I also love a good all-inclusive resort. But this is next level vacationing. How about a stay at the Voyager Station? In space. A space hotel.  Yup. This orbiting space hotel should be good to go by 2027. The peeps in charge of this project say the hotel will feature "the comfort of low gravity, and the feel of a nice hotel." Okay. When it comes to design, the inner ring will be used for docking, while the…

Fresh from my mini-vacay, it got me thinking about places to travel that aren't too far away. One place that gets props as a destination in the Buckeye State? Wright Brothers National Memorial. As you know, the Wright-Patterson Airforce Base is in Dayton-- where Wilbur and Orville Wright did their thing with that flying machine. Well, the memorial was built in 1940 and is breathtaking to see-- especially at night-- on Wright Brothers Hill. Check out the memorial HERE. A little Buckeye adventure does the soul good...

What does a T-Rex and a rollercoaster have in common? Maybe we should ask Cedar Point. At the park's Winter Chill Out charity event, patrons noticed some careful-teased sinage around the park, teasing some 2022 plans.        Posted by Cedar Point Nation on Saturday, February 20, 2021 Maybe we can trade these for the menu at Wild Turnip. #WinterChillout Posted by CP Food Blog on Saturday, February 20, 2021

Snow Angel

Written by
I just said to my husband the other day: "We need to make snow angels. Remember how much fun that was?" So, we did. I assume everyone's made a snow angel before. But one man never has. Until now. For the first time-- at the age of 79-- Edward Trejo made a snow angel with some help at his assisted living facility. This will melt your heart...

Before you know it, the Easter Bunny will be hoppin' down the bunny trail! Back in the day-- like waaaaay back-- I used to like Peeps. As I kid, I think we all ate anything that was sugary. Now, bleh. But, I'm totally down with this Peep-shaped pancake maker!!!! The cuteness of Peeps without the sugar overload (if you add a bottle of maple syrup, that's on you). Score yours at the usual haunts: Target, Walmart, Amazon...

About Last Night...

Now you've gone and done it. Had one too many adult beverages. The next day is now kicking you in the head with regret. What to do? Eat these foods to help you out of your drunkdicament... Salt can sometimes keep nausea at bay. Pickles are loaded with salty electrolytes that can help your body recover quicker. If desperate, drink the juice.  Chicken: Protein is important! It breaks down…

She's Arrived

Written by
Clawdia has made her debut at the Akron Zoo. The rare blue lobster that was rescued from the Red Lobster in Cuyahoga Falls last summer is now living the good life.  She debuted this past weekend and lives in a habitat within the Komodo Kingdom. Blue lobsters are extremely rare-- 1 in 2 million. But Clawdia recently underwent her molting process, and now she's a beautiful rainbow color.  I feel like she's my seafood sister because I pitched in for her care. In return I received a certificate, a blue lobster fact sheet, a picture of Clawdia, and a stuffie.…
