The 4th of July weekend is *this* close! It's gonna be sunny, hot, and filled with yummy foods. I'm so excited, because for the first time in what seems like forever-- I'll get to spend the day with my parents and my in-laws. It's been a challenging few months, no?
I enjoy cooking and feeding my peeps. One of the sides I'm making for our get-together is Seven Layer Salad. And it's so simple to make:
7 LAYER SALAD:
2 bags of salad (I use American blend)
Carrots, chopped into bite-size pieces or shredded
Red onion, chopped
Raisins (as much as you like)
1 bottle of Ranch dressing
1 bag of shredded cheese (I use cheddar)
Bacon pieces (as much as you want)
Get a rectangular pan (I use one of those disposable foil ones). Dump the bags of salad. This is your first layer! Add the carrots, then the red onion, then the raisins. Top with ranch dressing, and spread it around to cover the salad. Top with the cheese and bacon pieces. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours to let that deliciousness sink in.
Feel free to add whatever you choose as the layers after the salad part. That's why I love this recipe-- you can make it yours!
Have a blessed and safe holiday weekend! xoxoxo
