Oui Wee

Isn't there a saying that goes like this: "Good things come in small packages" ? So. True. Because yesterday, I shoved a couple of these dainties in my mouth. OMG. Delish. And since I have a love-hate relationship with food, I felt oh-so responsible only eating 2 of these bad boys. Which means I came under the 3-for-180-calories. But the point is-- these are really good. For dinner, we paired these mini croissants with alfredo gnocchi. And let me tell you... these delights were great at soaking up every bit of the alfredo sauce left in the bowl. Because we…

The Best Medicine

Written by
They say "Laughter is the best medicine." I agree 1,000-percent. And with 2020 being some kind of year, we need all the laughs we can.  With that in mind, let's make laughing contagious. Click HERE for the funniest things you can ask Alexa to keep yourself (and the family if you're not single) entertained. I suppose you could ask Siri the same things if she's your gal pal.  Hope you have laughter every day. xoxox

The Bird

Written by
I feel fortunate to live in the NEO. I love the changing seasons-- even though at times it seems like there's nothing but rain in winter... and orange barrel season. I love the diversity of foods and things to do and see. And I love our creatures. Where I live, in particular, has diverse wildlife-- including a variety of birds-- some new that I'm discovering every day. But the bird I can't get enough of during the summer is the heron. And last year, my hubs discovered that their rookery is close to our home. We live around water, and…

I'm not a Monday hater. Every Monday I do always say to myself: "Where did the weekend go?" Because if I were running this world, we'd have an automatic three-day weekend. You need one day to get all your domestic stuff done, and two days to actually do whatever. But anywho, I don't dread Monday. For me, Monday is the one work day of the week where I have the most energy! LOL It's because I slept like a human on Saturday and Sunday. For me, Monday is my most productive day. But I do feel the pain of those…

So. Glad.

Why? Not only does it mean "the weekend is here!" But because I'm having the Monday-iest of Fridays. I managed to injure myself within only being awake for an hour this morning. An hour. I'm a klutz. My name should actually be Kathy Klutz, because I can injure myself in the most non-amazing ways. There are times I get bruises and scratches and have no idea what happened. I bang into a door frame at least once a day. But this morning was epic. I got a large scratch on my arm thanks to a banana. A friggin' banana!!!! How,…

Winner winner, popcorn chicken dinner! After shoving various brands of popcorn chicken/tenders/nuggets into my mouth, I've finally one brand that is hands-down the absolute best: Good & Gather Popcorn Chicken Found at that paradise known as Target. Other brands have "real chicken" that tastes totally fake-o. Not this stuff. Completely delish! The breading is perfect and not heavy or greasy. And the chicken is quality. So far, we've made salads with popcorn chicken on top, and chicken wraps with these bites of yumminess. And another great selling point-- these aren't tiny pieces of clumped breading and a shred of chicken.…

There is no 12 step program for office supply addiction. If there is, I ain't goin' to rehab ala Amy Winehouse style! My love for office supplies is genetic. My mom is obsessed, so I got that from her. At times, my hubs is my supplier. Like these Sharpie highlighters. I love Sharpies. I love pens. I love highlighters. I love these Sharpie highlighters!!!! I have an entire medium-sized plastic bin at home filled with pens, and markers, and Sharpies, and highlighters and notecards and... it may take the rest of my life to get through them all.  I love…

Baseball bats = good Little bats that eat mosquitoes = good Giant mutha bats = runnnnnn There's a viral photo floating around of a bat that looks like the size of a human. It's hurl-inducing. Granted, the picture is forced perspective, but... that bat is still huge! They (meaning experts) say it's a flying fox-- which is a type of bat-- that can have a wingspan of 5 feet across.  Gross. And cool at the same time. But more gross, because I envision being chased by one of these creatures and carried off somewhere without Netflix and wine.  Wanna see…

I Do Eclair!

Written by
I figure we all need some deliciousness in our lives. So, I thought I'd share the recipe that I made for Funcle Mike's birthday celebration. This yummy treat can be halved to feed a smaller crowd-- which is what I did. What I love about this dessert is that it's so simple to make and requires no baking! Perfect for summer when you don't want to turn the oven on... Eclair Cake Ingredients: 2 (3.5 oz) packages instant vanilla pudding mix 1 (8 z) container frozen whipped topping, thawed 3 cups milk 1 (16 oz) package graham cracker squares 1…

What It's About

Written by
This fun-loving, crazy guy is "Funcle" Mike Conley. You get the pleasure of hearing him Friday mornings. I've had the pleasure of knowing him for a way long time. His birthday is on Monday, but we're celebrating his special day today. He's one of those "quality humans" that everyone needs to have in their life. We've made so many memories together, and he's one of those people that just make you smile.  So... Happy Birthday! May your new year be filled with health, happiness, and all the Captain Morgan you can handle. Perhaps we'll get Ben to deliver the birthday…
